Remodeling one Center - Opening a new one... All in 20112011 started with lots of plans for Mary's Center. Our headquarters building in Adams Morgan, DC, where we see our medical participants, will be remodeled. This is made possible due to a grant received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The construction work will start on February 26th and will last until June 2011.
The new building will have 18 exams rooms, more privacy and beautiful areas. This building was our first one after we moved from our initial site -a basement on Columbia Road, 16 years ago-.
In the meantime, we will see our participants at a new site (yes, one new site is on its way) -also in DC-, located at 3912 Georgia Avenue, NW, in Ward 4, one and half blocks from the Petworth/Georgia Avenue metro station.
The new site with 26,000 square feet, will open on March 1st and will help us expand our services to more individuals in the District of Columbia.
Services at the new site will include medical and dental services, home visiting, mental health, WIC, Teen Program, social services and health promotion.
